This will be the seventh year that we have run this Club. Thirty-seven forces took part in 2006/07.
Arrangements
This club is run on the same basis as IPF's other benchmarking clubs, and arrangements for members joining now will be as follows:
- Questionnaire: the questionnaire will be distributed in February, in the form of an Excel spreadsheet, with the request that it be returned to IPF 21st March. Click here to view last year’s questionnaire
- Reports: members will receive a report comparing their performance with all other members, and a second copy comparing them with a limited number of individual members that they have selected for comparison. At the end of the exercise members are also sent copies of the full club database.
We expect final reports to be available 20th May, however each member will receive a draft copy of their report very shortly after they have returned their questionnaire. This shows how their data compares with that received so far from other members, and invites them to review their figures, and revise them if necessary. IPF also carefully examines all data received, and contacts members where there appear to be any problems.
- Review Meetings: at the end of the exercise, all members are then invited to attend a review meeting to discuss the results of the exercise and to provide an opportunity to exchange information and ideas arising from it. Individual meetings are limited to a maximum of 15 members each.
- Confidentiality: this club observes IPF’s normal confidentiality arrangements, in particular:
- Members joining the club agree that their data and their name be shown to other members, but undertake not to show other members' named data to anyone except their immediate colleagues
- IPF will make no use of the data for any purpose other than reporting to members. It will, in no circumstances, be made available to anyone outside the club – or even to club members unless they have contributed their own data.
