This will be the ninth year that we have run this Club. Thirty-eight forces took part in 2009.

Arrangements
This club is run on the same basis as CIPFA Benchmarking’s other clubs. Subject to agreement by the steering committee, the arrangements for members joining now will be as follows:
- Questionnaire: the questionnaire will be distributed in January, in the form of an Excel spreadsheet, with the request that it be returned to CIPFA 26th February. Click here to view last year’s questionnaire
- Reports: members receive a report comparing their performance with all other members, and a second copy comparing them with a limited number of individual members that they have selected for comparison. At the end of the exercise members are also sent copies of the full club database.
We expect final reports to be available 7th May, however each member will receive a draft copy of their report very shortly after they have returned their questionnaire. This shows how their data compares with that received so far from other members, and invites them to review their figures, and revise them if necessary. CIPFA Benchmarking also carefully examines all data received, and contacts members where there appear to be any problems.
- Review Meetings: at the end of the exercise, all members are then invited to attend a review meeting to discuss the results of the exercise and to provide an opportunity to exchange information and ideas arising from it.
